Are BTP staff attorneys? No, we are not attorneys. We are professional
Legal Document Assistants. In California, this is a licensed and bonded profession.
What if I need legal advice?
We do not provide legal advice. You can always consult with an attorney of your choice. If you have questions we cannot answer or your situation is more complex than our services are designed to handle, we would be happy to provide a referral to an excellent local attorney who specializes in matters similar to yours.
Do you have a Notary Public on staff?
Yes. A Notary Public is available whenever we are open.
- For BTP customers, all notarizations of documents we prepare are included in our fees.
- For documents not prepared by us, we charge $15.00 per signature (cash only). You must sign the document in our presence and present valid photo identification.
Does BTP handle criminal matters?
No. We specialize in uncontested civil matters only. However, if you contact us, we can gladly refer you to a qualified local attorney who handles criminal cases.
Do you offer Rush or Same-Day document preparation services?
Yes. We can prepare certain documents within a few hours when needed. Rush and Same-Day services are available for the following documents:
- Trust
- Powers of Attorney
- Health Care Directives
- Deeds
- LLC and Corporation Articles of Incorporation
- A modest rush fee will apply.
How long does it take to prepare my documents?
All documents at BTP are custom-prepared according to your specific instructions. Every document is carefully reviewed and rigorously proofread to ensure the highest quality. Most documents are completed and ready for signing within one week, although actual turnaround time depends on the complexity of your situation.
